Looking east across the Bay, the two Chesapeake Bay Bridges are shown to bend sharply to the left approximately one mile into the Bay Swim.  The GCBS starts at Sandy Point State Park (immediately north of the bridges in the foreground), and ends south of the bridges on Kent Island (background).   During the vast majority of the event, swimmers must stay between the two bridge spans.
