The older, eastbound Chesapeake Bay Bridge, built in 1952,
is on your right as you make your way across the Bay during the GCBS. The two rock
islands seen here will be in your way if you swim too far to the south early in the race.
The second rock island, visible beyond the main channel, is a convenient two-mile
marker. |
