Background Information

What is the Bay Swim?
The Great Chesapeake Bay Swim (GCBS) is
a 4.4-mile open-water swim across Maryland's Chesapeake Bay. The annual event is
held on the second Sunday in June.
The Earley
Years
Brian J. Earley founded what is now the GCBS with a solo swim in 1982. He has participated every year since to further the
causes for which the event was created.
